Status: Design vs Runtime
An honest snapshot of what the design defines versus what the first runtime slice implements. The design model is richer than the first vertical — and that gap is the roadmap, not an error.
The design model — eleven node types, the full modality palette, five error types, the learner model, the misconception library, the eight-lens Council — is defined in the blueprints. The first live vertical (CLO1-ST1 in MDLD602) implements a subset: four node types, text/video modality, four diagnostic bands. None of this is wrong; it is the first vertical, honestly partial.
Element-by-element status
| Element | Status |
|---|---|
| The design model (11 node types, modality palette, 5 error types, learner model, misconception library, Council) | Defined in the blueprints |
| CLO1-ST1 — 5 nodes, blueprints, specs, 2 rendered videos, delivery + band_routing | Real / live |
| Node types in the runtime | 4 of 11 appear in the first slice |
| Produced modality in the runtime | text · video today — interactive ships as a text-equivalent |
| Diagnostic bands in the export | 4 bands (secure · fragile · knowledge_gap · misconception) |
| Fifth error type (slip), SOLO routing, the confirming probe in the runtime | Design-defined; runtime subset |
| Simulations | Architecturally recognised; deferred as a runtime engine |
| Misconception-learning loop · progressive autonomy · full Council in production | Pending Studio |
| CLO2–6 nodes · later assessments · other subjects · full grounding | Pending Studio |
Open Published Course Package items
Five items on the package spec are being resolved and will be delivered closed before the build starts against them: the course-level release manifest, runtime judge pinning, the asset delivery contract, the LMS binding key, and learner-visibility flags. Everything else in the package is settled. See the Published Course Package.
The runtime slice implements a subset of the design model on purpose — it is the first vertical, built to prove the philosophy through real learner experience before breadth production. Read the design topics to hold the full model; read this page to know what's live today. The difference between them is the plan for Phases A–C, not a defect.
